Introduction......

I am an Applied Arts (First Class) graduate, with specialism in ceramics.
The intention of my work is to indulge, delight and engage with amusing, exciting forms that create an atmosphere of fantastical spectacle.

Historical and contemporary relationships between humans and animals form an important grounding for my work. The use of animals as spectacle and entertainment is something that I find disturbing but also compelling. This interest is fuelled by observational drawing trips to taxidermy collections at natural history museums, and translates into my work through line drawing. Repetition is a recurring theme that gives a feeling of movement and animation, as though the objects are a freeze frame or a souvenir from a sequence of events.

The Horn Collection.

Based upon historical ceremonial drinking horns, the pieces have evolved and grown into lavishly extravagant decorative pieces, that could be used to drink from, but it may be messy and is not advised!

The form of the horns is elegant and grand, which contrasts to the jumble of dogs seemingly struggling to support the fantastical shape.
